Mad About Mountains is the epitome of a business that started 30 years ago and we think that Mad About Mountains is by far the best description of who we are.

We literally are Mad About Mountains.  They make us feel awesome.  We love being in them, on top of them, riding down them, running over them and…buying kit for them!

We’d kind of be a bit weird if we weren’t a bit mad about outdoor kit as we do work in an outdoor shop!

Madness aside…your kit is important, when you’re out in the elements you don’t want to worry if you have the right jacket or have that niggling feeling that your boots weren’t quite the best fit. 

The best kit you have is the kit you don’t think about!

We like to match people to kit.  There is no one size fits all and its important to remember that.  You have to find the best kit for you and then you will be at your best in the mountains.

How can we help?  Use us!  Use us for our kit experience.  We’re around kit all day every day and it counts.  We’re always talking to reps, getting training from brands, deciding what to stock for the next season, helping customers with decisions and most importantly wearing kit and using it ourselves.

We always try and stock a wide range to cover whatever you may need.

By using our website, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.

These terms and conditions will apply to all transactions placed online, by email, telephone or by post with which is a trading name of Country Concept Ltd.,18 -20 Market Street, Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria CA17 4QS.

Please read them carefully before placing any order as they contain important information. All contracts shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English Law and any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.

Nothing in these terms and conditions will be deemed to affect your statutory rights.

All references to the 'company', 'us' or 'we' will refer All references to the customer shall mean the person or persons purchasing or agreeing to purchase goods from the company. All references to the website shall include reference to all URL's owned

All prices are shown in pound sterling (£) and are inclusive of UK VAT at the current rate unless clearly stated otherwise.

All prices are subject to change without prior notice.


All of our stock levels are live and orders received by 12 midday will be shipped same day. Orders received after midday will still be shipped that day if possible, but we can’t guarantee it. If errors occur in our warehousing stock control system and an item/s are not available or delayed, you will be informed by us as soon as possible.

Orders received at the weekend and bank holidays are shipped on the next working day.

We are pleased to accept orders online via our secure server or by telephone on 017683 72525. All credit / debit card transactions are subject to validation checks and are authorized by the card issuer. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Delta, Maestro and Solo.

All orders are positively credit card sanctioned before dispatch. We cannot be held responsible for a delay to any order due to incorrect or invalid payment details being given.

No orders will be accepted or processed without a valid card payment in the name of the registered cardholder. All International orders must be delivered to the address registered with the card issuer

Any claims for none delivery must be made within 7 days of the scheduled delivery date.


All products offered are guaranteed for a period of twelve months unless otherwise stated from the date of the original invoice against failure to provide reasonable wear owing to defective workmanship or materials. The guarantee excludes faults caused by accident, neglect or misuse. Please note items need to go back to the manufacturerfor their assessement it could take up to 4 weeks.

Force Majeure

If by reason of such circumstances it shall become impossible within a reasonable time for the company to wholly or partly supply the items ordered, then the customer's liability will be limited to the value of the items already supplied together with any associated delivery charge.

Ownership of Goods

All items supplied to the customer remain the property of final payment of all sums owing in respect of those goods has been received in full by us.


Any complaint or compliment can be sent to our Sales Team. We will endeavour to deal with your complaint within five working days of receipt. In the event where we cannot resolve your complaint immediately we will advise a likely time scale to you and keep you informed of any investigation.
